The Return of Magid Iqbal

Much to the horror of Samad, long-lost Magid returns from Bangladesh more English than the English. Magid immediately joins Marcus on the new project FutureMouse (a transgenic Franken-species.) Irie is setting about resolving problems with Marcus's sexually harrassed secretary. The public launch of FutureMouse reunites the Jones', the Iqbals, the Malfens, the mouse, KEVIN, FATE and a big surprise visit from a guest who was part of the most traumatic day of Archie and Samad's World War II service.

The Trouble with Millat

1992. Millat is now a juvenile delinquent attending a progressive school with Archie's beautiful daughter, Irie. Busted for smoking dope with Josh Malfen, the three are sentanced to study sessions with Josh's intellectual parents. Marcus, a controversial geneticist and Joyce a famous gardener. Samad torches Millat's belongings in a bonfire, Millat decides to move in with the Malfens, however he is soon convinced by the Keeper of the Eternal and Victorious Islamic Nation (KEVIN). Josh becomes radical also when he joins Fighting Animal Torture and Exploitation (FATE), who turn out to be an animal rights group targeting his own father for crimes against mice.

The Temptation of Samad Iqbal

In Samad's flashback we see his wedding. From Bangladesh, Samad was betrothed to Alsana. When they finally meet on their wedding day she is submissive, pleasing Samad. That is, until a drunken man calls out a racist comment. They have twins together despite this. Samid wants to raise them as good Muslims, but this isn't helped by his passionate love affair with their school teacher Poppy Burt-Jones. To be sure at least one of the twins is raised as he wishes, Samad sends Magid to be kidnapped and flown back to Bangladesh. Alsana has no idea.

The Peculiar Second Marriage of Archie Jones

New Year's Eve, 1974. Archie attempts suicide by asphyxiation in his car. An irate deliveryman saves his life. Meanwhile, a hippie commune is celebrating the impending end of the world, inspired by new convert Clara Bowden (Naomie Harris), a Jamaican refugee from the Jehovah's Witnesses who have been preaching the arrival of Armageddon with the New Year. Saved from his own demise, Archie accidentally wanders into the commune and instantly falls in love with Clara. They get married once they realize the world will not end. Samad, Archie's World War II buddy serves as the best man.
