They also hire a an assistant pageant coach, Tim, and a former pageant queen, Ana, to serve as her interview coach.

Megan's ultimate goal is to be able to qualify for the Miss Iowa competition one day and knows that winning this next pageant can play a significant role in getting her there.

Jaime's parents go so far as to hire a pageant director who conducts mock interviews with her and a speech coach who aids Jaime in her diction. Jaime gives up weekends and going out with her friends to stay in and practice, practice, practice.
