The Tudors
Showtime's The Tudors chronicles the period of Henry VIII's reign when his effectiveness as King is tested by international conflicts and political intrigue from within his own court. As he feels the pressure of fathering a male heir, Anne Boleyn rises in stature. Season 2 opens with Henry as the head of the Church of England and paves the way for Katherine of Aragon's banishment. Anne Boleyn becomes Henry's new Queen, but her own failure to produce a son dooms her as Henry's attention shifts toward Jane Seymour.
