The Office
The Office , developed by Greg Daniels, is an American adaptation of the BBC sitcom created by Ricky Gervais, told through the lens of a documentary film crew and filled with gossip, pranks, romance and general foolishness at Dunder-Mifflin Paper Co. in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, is the head of the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, and feels he is the life of the office; his employees feel otherwise. The cast of characters includes his assistant manager, Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), who is dating the office receptionist, Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer); Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson), an award-winning salesman known for his authoritarian personality and science fiction fandom; Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak), a temp; the uptight Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey), who wishes to keep things orderly, including her previous secret affair with Dwight; and the bubbly customer service representative Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling). Outside The Office , there is Michael's former girlfriend Jan Levinson (Melora Hardin), who previously held the position of Vice President for Regional Sales.
