Snowboard Diaries
Snowboard Diaries follows the trials and tribulations of some of today’s most accomplished snowboarders over the course of a winter season. Each episode focuses on a single pro rider as they face personal challenges - physical, mental and emotional - and battle the odds. To new TTR world champ Kevin Pearce, this entails facing the immense pressure of modern-day competitive snowboarding. For others - like maverick pro Hampus Mosseson – it means pulling out all of the stops to produce their own independent snowboard movie. For each rider there is a unique story with a different set of circumstances, but all five share the same desire: To overcome their adversities and maintain their rankings as the world’s best.

It's got it all – comedy, personalities, highs-and-lows, triumph and despair, glory moments and anxious times. Will they finish the film on time, before the snow disappears and the money runs out? Millions of eyes look up. If you don't win then its seen as failure. Even though you've so much in your short career ... all of that - all that has gone before - is forgotten in the moment of drop-in, across those first few yards of transition, iPod beating in your ears. The future is now, there in his hands, through his eyes and the feeling down through his feet. But does HE think like this? Does he even bat an eyelid? Out of the Dark

Eero Ettala – professor of rail sliding. This guy has majored with top class honors in freestyle riding. Day-in-day-out through Finland’s dark, bleak winters, he thinks about new ways to ride his snowboard. This takes him the length and breadth of this frozen land, riding and filming through the night, sometimes never seeing sun-light for months. This also brings him into contact with authority and with the establishment. Sometimes this is harmonious, sometimes it isn’t. Our episode on Eero examines how these interactions works; the lengths he has to go to, to get his film-part. The huge efforts of Eero and the film crew – the successes and the failures.
