Meanwhile, the Oceanside doctors work with a grudging King (KaDee Strickland) on a case involving a sick baby born in King's hospital; and Sam tries to figure out why a healthy middle-aged man passed out, and why the man's mother is behaving strangely.

Trouble is, her old friend Naomi Bennett (Audra McDonald), a fertility specialist, hired her without telling the other Oceanside doctors. And they aren't happy about it. Meanwhile, a teen develops complications during labor; and a wife and a girlfriend both want a donor's sperm after his sudden death.
