Persona - Trinity Soul
Persona -trinity soul- takes place ten years after the end of Persona 3. It is set in Ayanagi City, a city located near the Sea of Japan, as its police force begins to investigate several cases involving a mysterious illness called the Apathy Syndrome. In the midst of the crisis, two brothers named Shin and Jun Kanzato move back to Ayanagi to see their elder brother Ryō, who is now the Superintendent of the Ayanagi City Police. It has been ten years since the three siblings last met with each other.

      Surfacing Future

      Having his family's destiny toyed with by Personas and taking away the love of his life with his own Persona, a quiet insanity slowly consumed Ryo's mind. To tame the whale from the sea, to end all tragedy and confusion, and to finally take the burden off of Ryo's shoulders, Shin released his Persona, equipped with a sword representing his parents' desire for atonement.

      Shin was overwhelmed by all the secrets Ryo kept were answered. Just like all the others with Apathy Syndrome, Shin sat by the shore, thinking back on the peaceful memories with his family. Meanwhile, the artificial organic body created to replace Ayane, who is lost wandering in the Sea of Psyche, was on its way to Toyama Bay.

      One winter afternoon, 10 years ago, simultaneous accidents and natural disasters suddenly broke out in the bay area of Ayanagi City. Many people were infected with Apathy Syndrome and the entire city ground to a halt. Ryo Kanzato was found by the shores of Toyama Bay with his parents and Ayane Komatsubara.

      Kanaru discovered she was created by Kujo to complete his goal. She was the one who originated the practice of Shadow Extraction, created the list of Latents, and also killed some of them herself. After realizing her end was near, she told her friends good-bye. She soon finds herself standing in a place where Shin and her memory remain together.

      The only reason Kujo lived was to learn how to revive his beloved daughter. However, now having lost his beliefs and ideology, his goal was little more than a forgotten dream. Sanada used Jun as a decoy to locate the Marebito's secret research lab. However, his actions were suppressed by a secret authority still supporting Kujo's research. It is all up to Shin and the other Persona users.

      Jun's body, now possessing only Yuki's psyche, was kidnapped by the Marebito in an attempt to stabilize their Personas. Knowing there were risks after discovering her true self, Kanaru still tried to protect Jun. Shin was told a secret about his parents only Ryo knew of from President Hiiragi, who was involved with the Persona research performed in the past.

      Sanada theorized the mysterious incidents near the bay were warnings for the humans who researched Personas. Sanada sought to prepare for a fight and destroy all of Kujo's past research data. Meanwhile, now that she was by herself, Yuki wished to spend time with Shin, despite the situation.

      Missing persons cases were still intermittently occurring near Toyama Bay and the shoreline. Those with severe apathy and those who wished to end their lives started appearing by the shores, one after another. However, they all showed signs of dissonance between their bodies and souls. At this time, Takuro Sakakiba met a young woman proclaiming to be his long-lost father.

      Jun met a red-haired girl, Ayane, reading A Whale's Feather at the park near his house. He couldn't help but feel attracted to her. Shin soon realized the girl is the same as the one always appearing and disappearing with the white feathers. As he felt the uneasiness swell within him, he decided to follow Jun and Ayane...

      Shin thought he could handle the situation alone, but Jun ended up getting involved and injured. Now Shin was starting to understand why Ryo was so distant with them. At the same time, Megumi finally came to terms with her tragedy from ten years ago. The reason Megumi reproached herself in secret and doubted her Persona all stemmed from the outbreak of Mass Apathy Syndrome.

      Takuro and Megumi are skeptical of Sanada, who failed to prevent casualties and was using Shadow Extraction to find the Latents, just like the Marebito. Despite Jun's worries, Shin chose to accept Sanada's plan to stop the secret exchange of drugs between Nagai and the Marebito.

      After the report on Ryo's disappearance and the subsequent Reverse case, Akihiko Sanada was placed at Ayanagi Station as a counselor. He demanded that Shin, Takuro, and Megumi fight as Persona users. As secret agents of a special project involving supernatural-spiritual bodies, and backed by the shared goal to end the twisted research on Personas, Ryo and Sanada had been waging battles in secret.

      The only body found at the snowy field was that of Eiko. Ryo, who disappeared around that time, became a suspect in Eiko's death. Jun sensed that exact "moment" and Ryo's defenseless thoughts. However, he could not manage to share that with Shin. The season was changing from spring to summer... and many townsfolk were starting to lose their minds.

An end was about to come to what seemed like peaceful days...

      Shin accompanied Jun to his annual check-up and learned about the brain surgeon who saved Jun's life from a deadly wound caused by an accident ten years ago. Shin, once more, felt gratitude towards the surgeon, but also learned the surgeon had passed away. That same night, Ryo had an unexpected reunion with a man who was involved in a top-secret special force long ago.

      Megumi learned about a secret club at the academy called the "Shadow Extraction Circle." Along with Shin and Takuro, Megumi entered the room where the club gathered. Surprisingly, they found that the leader of the club was Kanaru. She explained that she knew it was dangerous, but couldn't stop. Kids decided to watch over and help Kanaru, who was beginning to develop a severe dependency issue.

      Shadow Smiles at Nightfall

      Ryo and Jun were left alone. Jun had a place in mind to visit with Ryo, but he wasn't able to bring it up. Unexpectedly, Mayuri Yamasaki appeared and the two brothers were led on an unusual afternoon with her. On the other hand, Detective Narasaki followed Kanaru to Megumi and Takuro where Takuro was secretly training as a Persona user.

      Shin felt dejected over his relationship with Ryo since he returned. He rejoiced over the invitation from Eiko Nikaido, whom he admired since childhood, to a drive, even if it was strictly business. Eiko had been investigating the case at Toyama Bay. While listening to Eiko, Shin fancied the case to A Whale's Feather.

      A new student, Mayuri Yamasaki, transferred into Shin's class. This mature, quiet, mysterious girl seemed to be acquainted with Kanaru Morimoto, but Kanaru acted awkward when pressed. Meanwhile, strange phenomenons were occuring at the academy that weren't just pranks pulled by students. To investigate the mystery, Shin and his friends decide to patrol around the campus at night.

      Shin and his friends visit a hot-springs inn by Kurobe Shore. Still suffering from trauma and the after-effects of the Marebito attacks, Yumi Tasaka tagged along with the group. In a fragile state of mind, Yumi headed to the sea to end her life after opening her heart to Megumi. Right then, she saw a girl adorned with feathers standing in front of her.

      The rep supposed to come to the event at the Ayanagi Police Station got stuck at the airport due to heavy snow. Ryo was forced to head out to a Reverse crime scene since all other officials were running around trying to look for replacement event representatives. While the Chief was gone, the station received a kidnapping case report. Who were chosen as the replacements in this time of crisis?

      Jun and Shin were going through their parents' old atelier and finding items from long ago. Shin didn't know how to handle Jun's attitude, which was different from his usual tough face he puts on. The two reminisced about the past while reading their parents' last work, A Whale's Feather. That night, Jun disappeared after he saw Shin and Ryo get into a fight.
