Perils of Penelope Pitstop
The Perils of Penelope Pitstop is about a young girl who is heiress to a vast fortune, but her guardian, Sylvester Sneekly, is constantly trying to bump her off. He wants her fortune all to himself and doesn't care how she dies as long as the job is done. He goes after the pretty thing, himself disguised as The Hooded Claw, but is continually thwarted in his efforts to do away with her. Penelope's little band of friends, a group of seven tiny men known as the Ant Hill Mob, are usually around to save her from peril. Inspired by the silent film era series The Perils of Pauline, this cartoon even has the same film era look to it -- the cars, the wardrobe, etc., all added to making The Perils of Penelope Pitstop a success, which was originally a spin-off of the cartoon The Wacky Races.
