Kai-lan and her friends are planning a big day of playing outdoors, when suddenly it starts to rain! Kai-lan happily finds a way to play in the rain, but Rintoo, Tolee and Hoho are very upset because as a result of the rain, they can't play the things they were planning on. And, Rintoo,Tolee and Hoho don't understand why Kai-lan is so happy! With the viewer's help, they figure out that Kai-lan isn't thinking about what she can't do in the rain, she's thinking about what she can do in the rain! Then Kai-lan helps them think about all the great things they can do in the rain. Soon Rintoo, Tolee and Hoho find all sorts of great things they can do in the rain, and have a fantastic time playing in the rain!

11. Beach Day

Kai-lan is excited because today she's going to the beach with Ye2Ye and her friends, to play in the sand, fly kites, and go in the water! When some little crabs give Kai-lan a seashell, she and Tolee decide to build a sandcastle for them. But when a wave comes in and knocks down Tolee's tower, he becomes very angry and knocks down the rest of the sandcastle, that everyone else was working on! Kai-lan and the viewer figure out how to help Tolee calm down. Then everyone can build an even better sandcastle – that won't get knocked down by the waves. The crabs love it, and so do a whole lot of other sea creatures!

10. Happy Chinese New Year!

It's Chinese New Year, which means a big feast, red envelopes, and friends and family all together! Kai-lan and her friends are thrilled because this year, they are old enough to carry the huge dragon costume. It's going to take a whole team of friends to carry it for the celebration, and Rintoo is assigned to march in the middle of the dragon. But Rintoo doesn't think the middle is important, and walks away. Without Rintoo, they can't carry the dragon! Kai-lan and the viewer must find a way to show Rintoo that every job on a team is important. Finally, the Dragon Team comes together to make the dragon dance, and Ye2Ye ends the day with a special red envelope for everyone, including the home viewer!

9. The Ant Playground

Kai-lan is amazed to see the ants building a tiny playground full of fantastical rides. But they forgot to build a swing, and the playground is opening soon! Kai-lan and her friends volunteer to build the ants a tire swing. But they don't think about how small the ants are, and build a swing that is way too big for the ants to use. Kai-lan and the viewer need to get down in the ground and pretend to be ants, so they can see things from their perspective. When they understand that the ants need a small swing, Kai-lan and her friends spring into action and build an ant-sized swing just in time for the opening of the ant playground!

8. Wait, Hoho, Wait!

Rintoo gets a very special delivery today: a build-it-yourself toy car that everyone can ride in. Kai-lan is excited to help Rintoo and Tolee put it together and take a ride. But Hoho is sooo excited that he can't wait. He keeps hopping up and down and getting in the way of putting the car together. When he leaps into the unfinished car, causing it to fall apart, Kai-lan realizes that Hoho really needs some help learning how to be patient. Kai-lan and the viewer help Hoho find things that he likes to do, which helps the time pass much quicker as Rintoo and Tolee work on the car. Finally the car is finished, and everyone gets to take a magical ride through the backyard – with a little help from the ladybugs, who make the car fly into the air! It was worth the wait!

7. Kai-Lan's Campout

Kai-lan discovers some mysterious footprints, so there's only one thing to do – lead her friends on a safari through the backyard to find out who made them! During their journey, they meet a big, friendly elephant named Stompy, and Kai-lan invites him on the safari. But when everyone is delighted to see Stompy do cool things because he's so big, Rintoo becomes jealous and leaves. Kai-lan and the viewer must figure out how to show Rintoo that there’s something special about him too – he's really really fast! Soon he isn't feeling jealous anymore and they can continue the safari to find out who made those tracks!

6. Tolee's Rhyme Time

Tonight Kai-lan is having a camp-out in the backyard, and we're all invited! Ye2Ye has set up a beautiful ladybug tent, and all of Kai-lan's friends come over, wearing their pajamas. Tolee brought his favorite stuffed panda, Pandy, but he won't share it with anyone and leaves the tent. Kai-lan and the viewer need to help Tolee see that when he takes turns and shares his things, he can still have a good time – and it's an even better time, because sharing makes everyone else happy too! Kai-lan and her friends have a blast sharing their things, and end the night with a dance party under the moon, who turns into a huge disco ball!

5. The Snowiest Ride

Kai-lan wants to start a music group and wants Everyone to be in it! Kai-lan plays her tambourine, Rintoo triumphs on the xylophone, Hoho scratches his turntables, and Lulu dances. But what can Tolee do in the music group? He decides to be a rhyming singer, but after he has trouble coming up with rhymes, he quickly gives up. Kai-lan and the viewer need to help Tolee learn how to keep trying, and soon Tolee discovers that if he practices, he'll get better at rhyming! His rhyming becomes an important part of the music group, and they pull it all together just in time for a big backyard music show!

4. Twirly Whirly Flyers

Kai-lan wakes up to see snow blanketing the whole backyard! She finds a great hill for sledding, and sees some beautiful ice sculptures down at the bottom. After borrowing a sled from Ye2Ye, she gathers all her friends together to sled down the hill. Everyone is very excited – except for Tolee, who dashes off the sled at the last minute and runs away. It turns out that he's scared. It's up to Kai-lan and the viewer to help Tolee overcome his fear of sledding – by breaking it down into small, manageable steps, and taking things little by little. First they start with a small hill, then a medium-sized hill, then finally the big hill. Tolee gets over his fear and soon everyone is zooming down the hill on the way to the magical and mysterious ice sculptures!

3. Safari Pals

Kai-lan invents a game – Twirly Whirly Flyers – where she and her friends twirl flower blossoms into the air to try to get them into a big tree. Kai-lan and her friends get so wrapped up in the game that they don't notice that the flowers are causing problems for the ants who live in a small metropolis inside a bush. When Tolee accidentally loses his balance and breaks the ants' bridge, he isn't sure what to do. Kai-lan and the viewer need to help Tolee realize that if you make a problem for someone, you need to say sorry and then help to fix it. Tolee, Kai-lan, and the others help the ants repair their bridge, then invite the ants to play Twirly Whirly Flyers with them!

2. Everybody's Hat Parade

Kai-lan notices Ye2Ye's gardening hat, and is inspired to make a hat of her own. When everyone in the backyard start making hats too, Kai-lan declares that they should have a hat parade! Rintoo makes a very original hat that everyone loves. But when Hoho copies Rintoo's hat, Rintoo doesn't like it. Kai-lan and the viewer need to find a way to show Rintoo that copying can be a compliment, so the hat parade can go on!

1. The Dragonboat Festival

Today is the Dragonboat Festival! Kai-lan and her friends are sooo excited to race dragonboats on the river! Kai-lan can't wait to meet a real dragon at the end of the races. Kai-lan rows in a boat with her best friend, Rintoo the tiger. But when they lose the first race, Rintoo gets so mad that he whacks their boat on top of a pagoda. It's up to Kai-lan and the viewer to figure out how to help Rintoo calm down so they can finish the races and meet the friendly dragon!
