Melrose Place
Melrose Place is a primetime soap opera created by Darren Star for FOX and executive produced by Aaron Spelling. It's the second series in the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise, set in a small apartment complex in West Hollywood, where a group of young professionals reside. The series was introduced with a cross-over story from Beverly Hills, 90210 involving Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) pursuing Melrose Place resident Jake Hanson (Grant Show), a manual laborer and bad-boy biker. Dynasty and T.J. Hooker alumna Heather Locklear plays the assertive Amanda Woodward, an art director at D&D Advertising. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro) and Jane Mancini (Josie Bissett) were originally the stable couple in the crowd, with Michael working as a doctor at Wilshire Memorial Hospital, and Jane working as a fashion designer. Their neighbors were roommates Alison (Courtney Thorne-Smith) and Billy (Andrew Shue). Matt Fielding (Doug Savant), was a homosexual social worker who spent much of his storyline involved in discrimination-related lawsuits.
