Inspired by the movie of the same name, Highlander follows the life of Duncan Macleod, a clansman of Connor Macleod, star of the movie. Duncan's an immortal who has been alive for four hundred years. He finds he is being stalked by not only other immortals trying to kill him before the time of the gathering, but also a secret society of mortals who call themselves 'The Watchers'. Stars Adrian Paul, Stan Kirsch, Jim Byrnes, and others.

      The Hunters

      MacLeod's old compatriot Hugh Fitzcairn comes to town bearing a mystery?some of their Immortal friends have disappeared suspiciously. MacLeod realizes that someone may be following Fitzcairn and realizes too late that Fitzcairn has put Darius in danger by visiting him. Finding Darius dead in his chapel and Fitzcairn kidnapped, MacLeod won't rest until he locates the men responsible. Using a book Darius left him he tracks the killers of his old friend, and discovers that there is a band of mortals hunting Immortals and that even holy ground is no protection from them. MacLeod finds the renegades in time to save Fitzcairn and confront James Horton, leader of the Hunters, but Horton eludes his grasp. In the end Mac, Richie, Tessa, and Fitz send his ashes to the winds. The world truly would truly become a darker place without Darius.

      Nowhere to Run

      When the stepdaughter of an Immortal is raped, the Immortal, Everett Bellian, comes after the young man. MacLeod, a guest in the home of the accused boy's father, feels he must protect the family from this unstoppable menace. He urges the Immortal to see due process done, but the man has no interest in listening to reason, and he lays siege to the house. They defend the house using the element of surprise but the father is shot and must be taken to a hospital immediately. The son seeing it's all his fault tries to correct his mistakes by getting help. Duncan fights Bellian and the boy sees the fight. He orders Macleod to kill him but the girl arrives and shoots the boy. Bellian lives for he truly has done no wrong so Mac didn't see it fit to kill him.

      Eye Of The Beholder

      Richie meets a beautiful young woman, Maya, who leads him into the world of haute couture. She works for an Immortal fashion designer, Gabriel Piton, who has always loved woman and knows exactly how to make them feel beautiful; he also killed Maya's roommate because she discovered his treasury of stolen treasures each one related to the most beautiful women of time. Richie being a jealous boy with high hormone levels suspects Piton of the murder. He sneaks into his house and is caught by Piton. However before Piton can kill him Richie sets him on fire and run away. Duncan who having previously helped Piton out of a tight spot knows that Piton "owes him" and makes him promise not to harm Richie. Maya finds one of the earrings her roommate was wearing the night she was murdered at Piton's house. Piton calls Richie and threatens to kill her. However when Richie arrives with a gun he stole from a cop nothing is happening and a cop arrests Richie; Richie protests and reveals the secret that Maya found the earring. Duncan finds out that Richie has been set up and heads for Piton. Meanwhile, Piton is about to kill Maya because of the earring. Duncan arrives just in time to save her and defeat Piton, taking his Quickening.

      Avenging Angel

      When fatal stabbing fails to kill him, Alfred Cahill becomes convinced that he has been chosen by a higher power to wage a crusade against "perversion" and cuts a bloody path through Paris, murdering prostitutes and pimps and endangering an old friend of Tessa's who has become a call girl. MacLeod tries to explain Immortality to Cahill, but he can't get through to him and Cahill believes Mac is the angel Gabriel. In the end, Elaine decides to make a new life and become a good person but Cahill still wants her dead. In the end Macleod has to confront him in an old knight's templar and defeat him. Even until the moment of his death Cahill believes he is invincible.

      The Lady and The Tiger

      A day at the circus reunites MacLeod with a former lover, the Immortal femme fatale, Amanda, who has always meant big trouble for him. She had once betrayed him before but they always had an on/off relationship. Amanda, meanwhile, is in trouble of her own as her former Immortal partner, Blaine, has escaped from prison and wants her head. She plays the two Immortal men against each other, drawing MacLeod into a daring, high-stakes burglary she and Blaine are plotting. At the end, she and Blaine are attempting to rob a museum but Duncan sets off the alarm. They run away and Blaine attempts to kill Amanda but Duncan arrives. They fight and Duncan defeats him but Amanda being a thief and cheater delivers the fatal blow and acquires the Quickening.

      Saving Grace

      Grace Chandel has been a good Immortal, working for the betterment of mankind as a midwife, doctor, and scientist over the centuries. Her one weakness is another Immortal, Carlo Sendaro, a former lover who is obsessed with her and refuses to let her go. He slays Grace's current mortal lover and, when she refuses to run off with him, frames her for the killing. She turns to her old friend Duncan MacLeod for help.

      The Beast Below

      A mysterious death at the Paris Opera re-acquaints Duncan MacLeod with one of the strangest Immortals he has met in his many travels over the centuries. Ursa is a hulking giant - more beast than man - who Duncan rescued from persecution centuries ago, delivering him to sanctuary in an abbey. The abbey has long since been destroyed and Ursa now lives under Paris. He has become enamored of a past-her-prime opera singer who tries to use Ursa's innocent soul to murder her rival.

      MacLeod stumbles across the trail of an Immortal, Xavier St. Cloud, who has lived in hedonistic splendor down through the ages by remorseless robbing and killing innocent men and women. MacLeod had nearly fallen victim to this remorseless killer behind the front lines during World War One, when Xavier used poison gas to loot a payroll truck. He uses even deadlier gas in modern day Paris, and MacLeod must track him down before he kills again. He succeeds in defeating Xavier, but the evil Immortal escapes with his head. In a humorous yet touching subplot, Richie falls for a glamorous older woman, not realizing she is married, and Tessa must disentangle him from the woman's clutches.

      For Evil's Sake

      An evil Immortal, Kuyler, has hired himself out down through time as an assassin - the most successful killer in all of history. He strikes again in modern day Paris using his clown/acrobat disguise to kill a judge and two other important people. A French Police Detective, LeBrun, suspects that Duncan MacLeod is connected to Kuyler, but of course he cannot imagine that Kuyler once killed an eighteenth-century baron under MacLeod's protection. When LeBrun is wounded protecting Tessa from Kuyler's men, MacLeod confronts the Immortal assassin and puts an end to his century-old reign of terror.

      Band of Brothers

      An extremely great and powerful Immortal almost 2000 years in age, Darius, was once one of the most evil Immortals ever. One day he defeated one of the greatest good Immortals and received a "Light Quickening" which made him good and he drop his old ways and become a Catholic priest living on holy ground the only refuge for Immortals. Darius, being Duncan's friend and mentor, warns him that Grayson, Darius' one-time prot?g?, is now stalking Darius' other students - among them, possibly, MacLeod. Grayson, knowing that his former comrade-in-arms has become a man of peace, is killing Darius' mortal students in order to draw the monk off holy ground and into combat to obtain his Quickening. MacLeod must protect peace activist Victor Paulus, another of Darius' students, from Grayson's plot to assassinate him. He ends up fighting Grayson in an epic battle which he should have lost but wins; now he is becoming more and more experienced as an Immortal and joining the upper echelon of Immortals. At the end of this episode he, Richie, and Tessa go to France where they will live while Tessa takes up her new job as curator of a traveling exhibition.

      See No Evil

      A serial killer dubbed 'The Scalper' is attacking blonde women, including a friend of Tessa's. MacLeod recognizes the pattern of an Immortal who, betrayed by the woman he loved, became a killer. To end the carnage, MacLeod was forced to confront and kill him, back in 1925. Now the killings have started again, the modern day killer mimicking the 70-year-old M.O., killing in the same locations as the previous murders. It falls to MacLeod and Tessa to stop this madman.

      Richie Ryan, Duncan MacLeod's prot?g?, attempts to learn more about his parents, whom he has never known. Instead, he falls prey to a con man who, needing a place to stay and a quick score, pretends to be Richie's long-lost father. While MacLeod and Tessa try to keep Richie from being hurt, MacLeod relives his own traumatic past, where he first realized he was an Immortal, and was renounced by the man who had raised him as his son.

      The Sea Witch

      Richie Ryan tries to protect an old girlfriend, Nikki, from a band of drug dealers. This puts them both in jeopardy from an Immortal, Voshin, whom MacLeod knows from an adventure during the Second World War when he was trying to smuggle Jewish refugees out of occupied Eastern Europe. Nikki complicates the story by withholding drug money she has stolen from the gang, thinking she can use it to make a better life for her small daughter. Tessa, meanwhile, becomes enamored of the child, raising issues for her and MacLeod.

      Revenge is Sweet

      Seeking revenge for the apparent death of her lover, Walter Reinhardt, Rebecca Lord toys with MacLeod before she attempts to kill him with Reinhardt's sword. Rebecca knows nothing of Immortals or their combat, and she believes MacLeod murdered Reinhardt. Unbeknownst to her, Reinhardt is still alive, and is using Rebecca in a cat and mouse game to draw out MacLeod for their final confrontation.

      A beautiful young woman, Felicia Martins, throws herself to her death, only to revive with the realization that she is an Immortal. She seeks out Duncan MacLeod as her mentor, and becomes amorously involved with Richie Ryan. But there is much more to this 'ing?nue' than meets the eye. She is in fact a long-time Immortal, engaged in a wily scheme to trap MacLeod and acquire his Quickening. MacLeod must see through her subterfuge in time to protect not only himself, but also Richie. A flashback shows that Felicia had killed the wife and child of another Immortal in France a centuries ago. He is there to avenge their deaths. In the middle of the night Felicia goes to his apartment and defeats him obtaining his Quickening. Duncan finally cracks the mystery as she tries to kills Tessa but fails having to run away. He finds her at a beach and defeats her but Richie not wanting harm to come to her beseeches Duncan to let her live. They leave her on the beach.

      Bad Day in Building A

      While visiting the courthouse to clear up Tessa's traffic tickets, MacLeod, Tessa, and Richie are among a group that is taken hostage by a band of men bent on freeing their leader, Slade, from imprisonment. Slade starts by killing a lawyer so that the police know not to attempt a rescue. When Slade's demands are not met, he chooses a hostage to sacrifice. MacLeod makes sure that hostage is himself, and returns from the dead to hunt down the gunmen one by one, as the police watch helplessly from outside. He finally defeats the all but Slade and sneaks into the judge's room and disarms Slade who threatened him with a gun and then kills him. No one else is harmed.
