Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie

Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie
What is the "slow food" approach to cooking and why is it so popular among Australian foodies? Which chefs around the world use the science of deliciousness-or molecular gastronomy-to create cutting-edge dishes? How does China balance the ancient culinary methods that have shaped its culture and the modern techniques demanded by its burgeoning middle class? " Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie " answers all of these questions and more in delicious, half-hour episodes that look at the world food first. Produced by WGBH and Zero Point Zero Productions in association with Gourmet magazine and Discovery Networks International, and exclusively sponsored by TIAA-CREF, the show travels to the world’s must-see food destinations-Italy, Brazil, Peru, China, Australia, and the United States, to name a few-unearthing a feast of fabulous food trends, exotic ingredients, and in-the-know food players. From artisans struggling to save the ancient craft of knife making in Japan, to a hidden organic garden run by monks in central Rome, each episode offers an up-close look at the people, places, ingredients, and dishes that fuel our love affair with food.
