ER

ER centers around the medical personnel and patients in the emergency room of Chicago's fictional County General Hospital. Created by best-selling author Michael Crichton ("Jurassic Park"), ER follows the doctors and nurses of County's emergency room as they confront the daily challenges of a busy urban hospital, including overcrowded waiting rooms, staffing shortages, and the impact of life-and-death decisions. Dr. Luka Kovac (Goran Visnjic) and Dr. Kerry Weaver (Laura Innes) lead a talented staff of physicians, including Dr. Gregory Pratt (Mekhi Phifer), Dr. Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney), nurse Samantha Taggart (Linda Cardellini), and others. The show is notable not only for its myriad Emmy Awards, but for helping launch the career of a then-relatively-unknown George Clooney.
