Drake and Josh follows the lives of two step brothers, Drake Parker (Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (Josh Peck). Both actors (along with Nancy Sullivan as Drake and Josh 's mother) had played roles in The Amanda Show. Jonathan Goldstein plays their father, and Miranda Cosgrove plays their little sister. The brothers are schoolmates, but not close friends. Throughout the series, Drake and Josh go through many conflicts, misadventures, and misfortunes.
