Doctor Who (1963)
The world's longest running science-fiction series first aired on British television screens in 1963, running an amazing 26 years until its end in 1989. The series has now returned to our screens, but here the good Doctor is at his very best. Battling evil Daleks, Killer Cybermen and the War-like Sontarans, the Time Lord picked up a few (ahem!) companions along the way, and influenced an entire generation of children with its influential "peace-not-war" message. Over it's course, the Doctor was played by several actors, with the Doctor "regenerating" after he died into a different body with a different personality.
