He tries to runaway but is stopped by Nagisa. After overhearing the conversation between his teacher and Father, Tomoya tells Nagisa about his relationship with his Father.

Tomoya comes across Kotomi standing with some newspaper clips. This causes him to remember that he met Kotomi when they were kids. He asks her why she did not remind him and she said she thought he did not want to remember her. Tomoya then inquires about the newspaper clippings and she said they are a reminder of her past sins.

Tomoya Okazaski makes a new friend one day on the way to school. Her name is Nagisa Furukawa. She was held back for one year in school because of absenteeism the year before. Tomoya and her become fast friends so he decides to go to her parents store to meet them.
