Australian Idol
Australian Idol has been a platform for many young artists to jump-start their careers, including Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll and The Young Divas. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller. Through auditions, concerts and voting by the public, one person will be crowned " Australian Idol " and will receive a one million dollar recording contract and national fame. Hosted by Channel V's Andrew G and James "Jimmy" Mathison, and judged by Mark Holden, Marcia Hines and Kyle Sandilands, this the only competition that is sure to produce more than one star but only one Australian Idol .
