.hack//Liminality is the OVA series directly related to the .hack video game series for the PlayStation 2, with Liminality focused on the real world as opposed to the games' MMORPG The World. The story follows three girls, Minase Mai, Aihara Yuki and Tohno Kyoko (Kyo for short) as they investigate why several people have fallen into a coma while playing the video game. The series was directed by Koichi Mashimo, written by Kazunori Ito, with music by Yuki Kajiura.
